The Brief
To create a social media campaign for Comic Con Africa that elevates their social media presence and resonates with their South African audience. The campaign needs to span both Facebook and TikTok or Instagram including a static banner and a reel storyboard.
Solution
‘It’s a Canon Event’ celebrates self-expression and diversity across many fandoms at Comic Con. Just like how in the spider-verse, many dimensions come together in a multitude of styles, Comic Con provides the same space for those who attend the event. The canon events in the film reflect how Comic Con Africa is a life changing event and part of every nerd’s destiny.

The social media posts encompass the wonder of the Spiderverse and the creativity of Comic Con. It encourages people to partake in the event because it is ‘canon’ and you absolutely cannot miss it.
Illustrated Reel
The reel reflects scenes from the film and is hand-illustrated and animated. This speaks to the creativity and hand-crafting of cosplay found at Comic Con as well as alluding to Miles’ drawings as well as the unique illustration-inspired animation of the film itself.
